    Hi all,
As an inexperienced modeller with just a few 28mm Perry & Victrix figures under my belt. I took a giant leap into a large scale detailed figure.
I'm not sure how it's going to turn out, but i've found this forum, Youtube and Pinterest to be my teachers. Here's what i've finished so far.
    Constructive criticism welcomed. Regards Glenn

Ditto what Keith said, it's looking good so far, take it step by step and you'll have a great figure before you know it.

Thanks all. I'm leaving the face until last, as it's my biggest worry.

Good start, the base looks great. What are you using? Acrylics, oils or enamels? One tip for matting down any sheen on clothing is to use AK Ultra Matte varnish.

Acrylics from Vallejo, Citadel & Army Painter. My camera phone makes the parts look shiny tbh, but i'll have a look at the AK varnish, thanks.

Those will all leave a slight sheen which is best avoided on clothing, especially on a large scale figure IMO. The AK Ultramatte will really deaden down the finish and also pull the highlights/shading together. Best of luck with the rest of it, enjoy the process(y)

The saddle was painted darker, but the camera on my phone makes it look lighter.

It looks really very well, excellent paint work.
Yes, I've the same problems with my phone, I'm not a good photographer.

    Cheers,

Well it looks like leather and looks pretty damn good from that photo so it must be great in real life. A lot of us suffer from poor photography skills, too busy painting to learn the arcane art! I'm rather enjoying this thread.
