    Hi,
I´ll post here too even I suspect that TimeLines and PF share the same readership...
After some very lazy months from modelling I started a six month period of leave of absence from work and here is little something I have been doing for the few last days. It´s 1/16 scale and will hopefully be finished as a Finnish (yes, again) Winter War Maxim machine gunner. I have a title floating in my head;" Last belt, last man". The Maxim is a excellent resin Tank kit and the head is from Dogtag. For the first time I´ve used Super Sculpey Firm and the experience is most satisfying. I´m still unsure if I continue with SS or revert to MAgicsculp for clothing and detailing. SS tips welcome.
Comments on anatomy etc. are most welcome.

This has some real potential Pekka and its good to see you back at sculpting.
I think the figures pose works well with the Maxim and he has a sence of desperation to him.
Looking forward to seeing more of this one.

Pekka , excellent sculpting and a great action pose , it sort of reminds me of the final scene in the classic movie "The Wild Bunch" where the actor William Holden desperately holds of about a thousand mexicans. :)
    Looking forard to following progress.

    A promising start , Pekka. :)

This figure is gaining its balance by leaning onto the MG.
I understand this is an action pose, but it would be very
difficult to control a moving machine gun when one is
totally depending his balance on it.

How about bringing back the center of his balance closer
to the figure by bending the elbows???

    Great looking pose Pekka!
I agree with Taesung bringing the machinegun closer to the figure would improve the overall look of the figure.
Looking forward to see the next step.

    Hi Pekka,

I also feel the elbows could be bent a bit more. A bent arm will absorb the recoil from the heavy machine gun better than a straight arm and its a more natural firing position.

I'd also consider bending the knees a bit more so he's lower and looking down the sights of the gun, rather than standing high above it. Standing this high would make his head an ideal target for a sniper and would result in him spraying his rounds all over the place.

    Pekka:

Thanks for posting these very interesting pictures. As so many have said,
this project shows a great deal of promise. I haven't seen a sculpted figure
with a maxim gun, . . . well, recently! :) So great choice of subjects.

1969 mentioned the desperation evident and I agree. And I see that as one
of the things that will give this project a great deal of interest from the
    viewer, eye appeal.

I have a question; since this scale is 120mm/1:16th. Where did that head
come from? I'm looking for some good 1:16th heads. Is that a Hornet head?

    Thanks again,

    Jayhawk

    I follow your orders.

    Hey,
thank you all for your comments. As I always do as told ,(even if told by others than my wife)so I´ve changed the angle of the arms. I also turned them a bit down to turn him a bit more upright. He is more correctly positioned to the gun too in the photos.
    Jayhawk, the head is from Miniature Alliance;

    Looking good Pekka!

I really like the pose....almost panic as he suddenly realizes he can't get the angle and the enemy are about to come over the top of the trench!

    Cheers,
    Jon.
