    Hi

    Quick update:-

Jacket shading now done along with the belts/straps everything is in oils with a hint of matt varnish mixed in. The final highlights were carefully put on using wet on dry technique:-

Dave, nice progress mate and great painting of the fieldgray, without adding the flesh colour to the arms it sorta at the moment looks like an excercise in painting in black and white. Following and seeyou at Figure World along with this I hope.

    Cheers Ken

    Hi guys

thank you all for your words of encouragement it is very helpful and inspires me to do better.

I have really broke the back of this tonight I just need to let it go off before adding more highlights so will post up before the weekend.

The head is now on and it makes a great difference so another week and I think it will be complete..................phew!

Currently planning a massive project to start next but I think it will take around a year so will do some single figures in the meantime.

Thanks again and yes Ken look forward to seeing you in July.

Have to agree with my mate Ken, the colours do look washed out, but I'm sure they aren't. It looks good for black & white painting though.

I think it's due to the lack of flesh on the arms that make it look a tad washed out but i can assure you the colours are pretty good against my reference books.

I have put the head and equipment on and placed him on the scene for you to get a better feel for colours and composition, but it is starting to come together now.

Next job will be the arms followed by the legs etc and I'll finish up with some final shadowing where its required, before taking the photographs outside with the backdrop of tree's:-
