My latest is another conversion, based on another in the Miniart Flying Aces series, this time, their Hermann Goering figure:

Taking inspiration from the above photograph, mainly because I found an Bergmann MP18 in the spares box, I gave him a new head and arms, and various bits of equipment.

Welcome Hans this is the place to get inspiration and any help that you may need, so crack on and happy bench time.
I was meant to be in Arnhem over the next few weeks as my group where travelling through Holland into Belgium and onto France for the 100th anniversary of the Ulster Tower (36th Ulster Division memorial) at the Somme but we had to pull the plug due to travel complications within the 3 countries, however we build Arnhem into our next trip.

    Many thanks Nap.

The spares box is almost out of WW1 German items. Just enough for one more, based on Miniart's last in the series, Ernst Udet. He will be painted as a Wurttemberg officer.

    Morning Peter

Another cracking conversion and great colour palette too.

I guess the German WWI air force recycled uniforms from other military branches.

It has made your conversions more achievable without major work.

    Just one more then?

Did your conservatory survive the recent rain storms?

My parents had some raining in, so more DIY when I go up again.

Have a good day with the Autumn chill in the air

    Regards

Hi Peter I replied to the thread yesterday but drifted off welcoming Hans to PF instead of commenting on your latest creation so just to put this write:
Good to see more wonderful work from your bench incorporating the usual bits from your spare box, I often wonder how big is your collection of spares, you seem to have an endless supply, excellent.

Steve - Hi and many thanks. The German pilots of the 1WW usually started off in cavalry or infantry regiments, so tended to wear their old uniforms prior to the introduction of a specific Luftwaffe uniform. The final figure of Ernst Udet is wearing a uniform specific to the Wurrtemberg regiments, so I'm painting him as an officer of one of those units. The conservatory flooded, so it was back on the phone to the builder to see when he can come and do the renovation work - ''Er, I'll try to get to you before Christmas, but......'' Hope your parents' leaks don't take too much fixing. Keep warm.

Terry - Many thanks. I have three shoe boxes full of spares, mainly recycled from old figures, but the supply is dwindling.
