Here is a project my friend, Andy Meyers (Spec Ops Models) is working on. He's doing this for a friend of his that actually flew the plane and commissioned Andy to build it for him. Once It's complete, it will be displayed in a gallery.

I took one look at the pictures and was COMPLETELY blown away! Just goes to show there are a lot of different things we do besides figures.

    Enjoy,
    Jim Patrick

    Thanks guy's for the comments.
It's bin a fun project working on this big model. Glad I have a big shop to work on something this size.
I did a lot of jet models for the Air Force
But this one out of all of them is my favorite jet.
Still a lot of body work to be done on the plane and will keep you guy's posted on the progress of the SR-71 model.
The SR-71 model will be a lot more detailed since it will be inside a gallery.

Thanks for posting the SR-71 model Jim.

    Cheers,

    Andy

Here are some finished models I did for the Air Force.

    RC-135 jet
    Predator Drone
    U-2 Spy Plane
    U-28 jet
The RC-135 is 18' feet long

And the wingspan for the U-2 was 18' feet long.

Fabulous work Andy! It must be quite a challenge to not only make these at a large scale but also weather proof! Kudos! (y)

    Thank you Gordy,
Yes it is a lot of work.
All the plane's have to be fiber-glassed and then after that is done.
I still have to do the body work.
Lots of auto filler and sanding and more sanding...fun...fun..
Once everything is finished with the body work, I paint them in a UV-Auto paint to weather proof them. Just like working on a car..
Some of the plane models take a few months to finish.
