    Acrylic or Vinilic

Are you talking about Maimeri polycolor paints ? These are PVA paints. So yes you can paint figures with them and layer acrylic paints under or over them without any problems. However, I do not suggest mixing polycolor with acrylic paints since the binder is not the same. Hope this helps.

    Los Tercios de Flandes

Hi Is each individual figure split into many parts ? Are you distributing unsupported or presupported files ? Finally, have the files been tested for printing ? If yes, at what scale ? thank you alex

    Pegaso / White metal re-casts?

Agreed. In any case, if this is an original kit, it should never have been sold and pass quality control. I have many dozens Pegaso metal kits and most are of excellent quality. Some had problems and I had to ask Pietro for a few replacement parts.

    Pegaso / White metal re-casts?

Bill, were the smaller parts in small platic bags (no ziplock) folded and stapled ? In every Pegaso kit, smaller metal parts are always contained this way. Even if someone put aside the original box, I'm pretty sure that will keep the grey foam and there's no reason to throw away the small...

    Pegaso / White metal re-casts?

Oh my… as Felix said, the casting is simply awful and the fitting of parts as well.. most of the details on the front part of torso are simply not there.

    Source of decent drill bits.

Norseman drill bits made in USA and water will be as effective as oil without leaving any residue

    Zap Z-poxy advice

Very easy : either put it in a glass filled with hot water for a few minutes or microwave it for a few seconds at a time. It will be as good as new. Can't do that with gorilla glue however.

Scale Collectables - Sid Naique's Angel Eyes Bust

I can see that the bust is not solid and was printed with supports still showing inside. If this will be printed for customers, may I suggest to print it as a solid piece in order to prevent any liquid resin from remaining inside ? very nice !

    European Crossbowman, 14th Century

very nice painting of this classic piece (also in my gray army). Congrats ! also, I agree with you. I find it a little bit disrespectful when people alter pictures taken by us of our own work (without asking 1st) cheers alex

a question on the Pegaso 90mm Timur's Cataphract

If you do not put any metal (steel not brass) rod in one or two legs, you will rely only on the strength of the metal (pewter) itself which is not enough for horses. you need at least one steel rod extending at least one inch in the wood base, through one leg and then inside the body of the...

    Elgreco 3D prints?

I have just started to print myself. If the busts felt very light in the hand, it is because they were hollowed. I do not like to print hollowed parts even though you save some resin. If the parts are printed solid, they will feel exactly the same in the hand as a resin cast.

Holy cow! Rucroi offered for $20K in auction

Sincerely, 20K is cheap for this artwork. The pictures do not seem to do justice to the quality of the work. People pay crazy amount of money for awful paintings.. It's time that our hobby be recognized as an art form.

    Nuisance on the bench

Hi Bill Do you remember if the legs of your horse were hollow when you drill them to insert the pins ? Were there instead any typical mould lines from a regular casting process ? I think that there are many different problems highlighted in this thread. Talant told me that some 90mm kits were...

    Nuisance on the bench

Talant has agreed to send me a new horse which is great. He told me that on the first batch produced, 3D printing resin was smeared on small defects to even out some areas. So his suggestion is to expose the kit to UV lighting in order to solidify these areas. Other kits produced after were...

    Nuisance on the bench

WARNING My kit is also affected by the same problem. Felix just sent me a private message saying he noticed the same kind of problem. I have just noted on my kit plenty of oily speckles all over the horse and other parts. There's even a gelatinous residue near one of the quarter (exactly like...

    Nuisance on the bench

Hi Adrian Precisely that. First cut the leg with a jeweller's saw (extra fine blade) at the knee. Drill rear thigh. Insert stainless steel pin. Drill other part of the leg. Bend pin accordingly. Reassemble everything and use epoxy. A pin like this will support the whole horse and rider without...

    Nuisance on the bench

Here is mine. You can see that I have inserted a pin through the whole leg. Epoxy glue was used. The legs were solid and not hollow. I concur with Steve : hollow parts means 3D print and uncured resin. I do not like 3D prints and prefer cast kits (metal or resin). cheers alex
