This is my first bust for quite a while. Sir Thomas Cochrane was the model for Jack Aubrey and a number of other fictional heroes of the Napoleonic era. Napoleon named him "Le loup des mers". He became probably the best known frigate captain of the age and somewhat of a scoundrel as well.

I have sculpted him in Magic Sculpt, Fimo and Duro at approximately 1/6th scale.

He almost made Nelson look like a wimp with his daring attacks. Unfortunately he was caught up in a Parliamentary scandal and had to leave the country. His adventures are real boy's own stuff.

Well he did become a national hero in Latin America.In my country (Greece) he is mainly remembered as a scoundrel.Came down here during the Greek revolution against the Ottoman empire in 1821 flashing his epaulettes and expertise ,got himself appointed in overall command of the Greek forces and finally succeded in spending most of the cash Greece had acquired through a murderous loan with English bankers and in leading to the death of one of the most gifted and brave generals Greece had at the time,Georgios Karaiskakis.

I was wondering if anyone knew enough about casting to give any advice about how I should approach the possibility of scanning or casting this type of model?
