After nearly a month on the road and away from painting, I’m back to making progress on my Hussar bust. This piece was sculpted by Moz Corry for Gordon Mitchell a couple of years ago. It’s a beautiful sculpt that is loaded with detail.

My primary color for the Argentine Grey is Vallejo Model Color Intermed. Blue 70.903. Shadows are added using Vallejo Luftwaffe Uniform WW II 70.816, and highlights using Vallejo Blue Grey Pale 70.905.

Your version of this kit is absolutely beautiful. I think, however, that the "gris Argentin " should be a little less blueish. Can't wait to see the rest of the painting.

I’m basing my color palette on Histoire & Collections’ second volume on the French Hussars, that indicates that Argentine Grey was more of a pale grey-blue shade, and not the slate grey often used by figure painters. For what it’s worth, I’ve copied the relevant page below.
