    Hi friends!
Here we present the new release
    [IMG]:)
This month we decided to make a bust in 200mm. of First World War period. The piece is our version of the Generalfeldmarschall from German Imperial Army August von Mackensen, also known as "the Last Hussar".
The bust is sculpted by Ebroin and Boxart painted by Alexandre Cortina Bonastre.
    Casted in resin.
We hope that you like this new kit from our catalogue.

As always, it's available from our official retailers and also in our website www.alexandrosmodels.com Thanks for watching! [IMG]

Of course we could do similar recopilations from different brands in almost every new release in the market. But for some obvious reasons we don't do it( first of all for the respect and ethics). I am sure that fans of this historical period are aware of all the figures available that concern the same topic. Anyway, everybody is free to post comments that they consider necessary...... From our side : we want to thank to everyone who follows this thread and liked our work on this subject. We enjoyed working on this character and we hope that we managed to depict August Mackensen in the best way. Thanks for your opinions!

First, I'm a fan of Alexandros Models!
I indicated in my post that other busts of Von Mackensen existed.
Being, I think a specialist of that time (little specialist).
I sincerely think that all these busts complement each other ...
    Astonishing?
Not so sure, compare them, and you'll see, everyone has their own approach to the subject and allow different interpretations of this topic!
By cons, for me a little crush for two of these busts, the one of Alexandros, which makes well the character of Manckensen "Proud" and "right"! and that of Model Cellar for the choice of the outfit!

This is a nice bust and well painted except for the peltzmutze cords, please check as they are silver with black lines not gold.

If ever I did busts, this would be on the list; a remarkable sculpt from every angle. He reminds me of......me !

This would look great against von Richthofen.
Impressive bust, and I really gonna buy one.

Just out of interest: in the photo but not the model, but what are the groupings of three slits down the l/h side of his jacket?

It's probably something obvious to early C20th Imperial German uniformologists... but that's not me o_O
  15. pkessling Active Member

The slits were for his other military awards that he has chosen not to wear in that photo.

I did wonder if that was it but decided that even he couldn't have that many!

But looking at his pelisse in the Getty photo I can see that this was so.
