A marvellous duo that should go well with several 18th-19th cent. figures. A fine and detailed sculpt from every angle.....a must have for me (y) The staff could be easily added to.

Smartass;) What I meant was it's more like a staff than a stick and walking while holding it like this would do her wrist in.
An injury you're familiar with :p

Not sure what to say about this. I recently purchased the actual painting.

Folks. This is copyright theft of my original artwork. I am surprised that most of you seem to feel piracy is not an issue. I am always surprised a company like this cannot come up with their own original work and feels the needs to STEAL from other artists. Any dealers handling this infringing piece in the USA could find themselves with a legal issue. In addition I will be reporting this company to US customs which could block their products . After seeing the churlish way the artist has tried to throw his weight about on here, you couldn't give me any of his work

I get very churlish when companies steal my hard work illegally for profit. Glad to see you won't be buying one :)

Many years ago I was the recipient of an email from Mr Troiani regarding 3 figures I produced. Basically he asked that I take them out of production as they where copies of his intellectual property. I did some research and from what I could find he was correct. I took them out of production. I didn't find him "
churlish" in any way. As a business man he just stated the facts. There is much more here that most people here are aware of. I will not go into that because it's his business and he would be the person to disclose it. I will say this. I looked into using imagines from another artist and was told that the rights to these were sold to some one else. If I used any of his work without purchasing the rights I could be sued and so could the artist for allowing me. I did purchase the rights for 2 images and saw noting wrong with. I would have loved to copy some of Mr. Troiani's work when I was still in business, but an agreement wasn't possible at that time. Many times there is more below the surface than we know. I really have no dog in this fight as the painter/creator , not the owner of the painting, has the rights to the property. I can only speak from experience, research, and first hand knowledge. In this case he's right.

Don, few (if any) folks here have an encyclopaedic knowledge of your work. I for example have heard of you, but this is the first time I have ever seen this picture and I would not have had the first clue that the 3D sculpt was taken from your work.

I get that you are pissed. But perhaps a little more politeness on your part would not go amiss. Your beef is should be with the sculptor not with the pF membership who are not intimately familiar with your complete works (because you appear to take for granted that most of us are).

So we have our own little Cold War here. Was this covered in Mueller's investigation into collusion??
Fair enough if it's Troiani's source of income and it clearly would irritate however does he have to be so offensive?
" I am surprised that most of you seem to feel piracy is not an issue. "
Where did anyone, never mind most of us say that piracy was not an issue? Probably 90% of the membership here have never seen this painting in print form, associating Mr Troiani's work with the ACW and AWI.
Actually the way he has highlighted this by attacking members of a relative small forum who in no way associated this with his work shows a certain bawbaginess.
Interesting that his main threats are to fellow Americans who may distribute models and not to the Russian manufacturer, I wonder why.

I did not understand, do not understand, and never can understand why when in his work the artist uses the classical pose of a mother leading a child by the hand (for centuries, millions of mothers with all their belongings led the way of children, led along trade paths and war roads), adds the necessary entourage of the epoch that interests him, then this is his property, but when another person takes this 2D image as a basis and uses it to create a three-dimensional sculpture, is it immediately piracy, and the manufacturer of the miniature is a thief right away? Here, of course, the sculptor clearly used the picture of Troiani as an idea for creating his 3d sculpture, but it is not known whether the sculptor knew that she was someone’s property, but I very much doubt that the manufacturer knew about the existence of such an image, as well as that someone has ownership rights to it. In this case, all the same insults and accusations of theft, piracy would be worth to stop - this is inappropriate.

What flimsy nonsense! It is a nearly exact copy of my original in every detail for all to see . They knew they were stealing because it is clearly signed with my name, date and copyright notice. This is a violation of US copyright law plain and simple. In the US (where this is a Federal crime) they would be headed for court. It is still a violation of copyright if it is a 3D copy of a 2D image. Try making some star wars figures from the movie and see what happens when you market them. This company makes very nice figures , I can't understand why they need to steal from others. No more ideas? If they are honorable they will remove the figure from sale. Let's see.

Point taken, I apologize to the members here, I get a bit overheated about this. You have to understand if one does defend your copyright , you can lose it in future cases. There is no way to sue anyone in Russia or China realistically. Therefore, distributors in the US who sell the item , AFTER BEING NOTIFIED become liable if they continue to market the infringing work. If they are honorable they will not want to sell pirated work in the first place. This is no different from making fake Gucci bags. Now that they have marketed this figure W.Britain who has the rights to my figures can't make this one.

There's no comparison between an artists hand and a 3D sculpt. One has feeling and sensitivity and the other one is just what it is. And this is a great example.
