After seeing ideas on this forum, I ordered the "Private Investigator" bust from 9th Gate Miniatures. The sturdy package arrived from the UK today and a glance in the box brought a smile to my face. I can not wait to get started...other projects still on workbench, etc. The sculpting looks just like David Suchet , CBE, portraying Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot, one of my favorite detectives in fiction.

After seeing the quality of the casting and the sculpture, I returned to the 9th Gate website this afternoon and ordered the "Assistant" who, naturally, is "Captain Hastings," Poirot's friend of the stories.

Shame that 9th Gate doesn't hold licenses for the likenesses of any of their miniatures. Hence the names. Just waiting for Disney to sue them over the Pirates of the Caribbean IP theft on their Kickstarter.

It's a huge shame as their digital sculpts and casting are apparently really good. But they have nothing where they own the designs.
