Denim.....It depends on what you're for looking for....where it's worn.....how many times it's worn.....how many times it's been washed....where it was made....where the guy was when he wore it....I could go on, but all this plays a factor if you're trying represent detail in particular when you're trying to represent an accurate portrait...I could go on but I'm scared shitless to be called a rivet counter……:)

    Finally!

After a week of illness, I can continue working on Vladimir Semyonovich's shirt - the biggest problem being finding the original color again ...

After I finished the second side of the chest, I did a little extravaganza:

Earlier in the Stone Age (meaning the '70s!), when I was a boy, denim jackets and shirts from "Levis" (and whatever else was out of the question!) had a clearly visible red label on the left breast pocket...:

The shirt of Vladimir Semyonovich is also of western origin - Soviet denim shirts were pure utopia and only in the drug rush ever conceivable!

So I added the little red "Lewis" label ...:

Don’t forget, there is no end of dyes, washes of denim..I actually like your effect..to me it’s “non American interpretation of denim” ..not they your painting is off..no, it captures a version of denim that was worn a while back as a more dressy style....there is nothing wrong with what you achieved..I think it works just fine..when you finally stick the whole thing together, instrument and all, will be evident where to finally add some highlights..meantime..just do it..sir!

In your process of distressing the denim, don’t forget to figure out the lighting being cast..so there is a light source directing the highlights and shadows

It's a real challange and very difficult to paint such a Denim fabric - but I htink, I've come very close to it...

"Whole lotta shakin's going on - gimme that guitar, babe!"

The guitar of Vladimir Semyonovich is delivered in three parts - from which I **groan** immediately made four ...:

Wire for the strings is not included - why? Something like that flies in harsh quantities in every average modellers household!

Now the parts must first be cleaned - my day's work!

    At the body it's a sprue ...

... and a few fish skins and a few tiny ridges on the edge ...:

    It matches!

    Part Three: The Fingerboard ...:

Since I naturally had to live up to my reputation as "King of the Breakers", I broke off one of the tiny set screws for the strings ...

... but happily saved it before the tiny thing could be swallowed by its natural main enemy, the carpet monster ...:

Finally, I put the set screw back in place, or "crack" the break with two-component adhesive downright ...:

    Now everything fits together!

Tomorrow is "washing" and "priming" on the program!

In addition, I researched again - and decided on the style of the guitar, which Vladimir Semyonmovich will hold in his hand ...

    Cheers
