I saw the bust on El Greco site and liked to cheeky face.

After cleaning up, washing and priming I started with the eyes in acrylics, followed by giving the eyes a coat of gloss acrylic varnish, when dry then out with the Artist's Oils for the flesh and the hair.

No, he's not decided to be a monk, his tricorne fits over the bald head.

Nice start Geoff. Not seen this one before but I do have the Franks Miniatures 75mm full figure of the same unit in the grey army and love the colours of the uniform. Certainly does have that “cheeky chappy” look about him.

Thanks Guys, it's strange how one decides on what to buy, it was that face, certainly not an era I usually do.

Good colour blocking ...if I may looks like there's a casting line on the collar at the back running down to the cross belts ...or does the pigtail cover it okay?

What green are you using ?

Thanks Nap, Yes the Que should cover it, it is quite a concave seam and difficult to get rid of.

The green was a mix of Vallejo model color 891/074 Intermediate Green and Vallejo Panzer Aces 348 Splinter Stripes, if I remember correctly, don't ask ratio, as I never measure it out.

Ihave done some more and this is it for today.

I don't like the way the dry-brushing has come out on the red so will change it. Que still to go on the back once oil paint has dried.

Just finished him, removed the dry-brushing on the red, much better, and added the Que.

Thanks Nap, if you are grovelling you must have bought more busts, .... I love his face, only reason I bought it.

Next one will be Hawk's 1815 Life Guard, in between the painting stages of the bus paint drying.
