Got inspired by TV last night.
Watch officer on the North Atlantic run.
    Sketched this out this morning.
A Wee Friends body, Alpine head and binoculars from the bit box.
He'll be leaning on the ships rail when I work out how to make it.

Blimey Razor, you don't stand still. Makings of a nice vignette

This may be why I don't seem to finish half of what I start.
Still the show must go on.

    Hi Paul

    Happy New Year

Like the subject he does good as do the rails ...what did you make them with ?

Hope we see some paint on this

    Thanks for sharing

Why not put something into FOTM as well ?

    Thanks.
The post is simply a paperclip and plastic rod, and the guard wires are brass wire held in place with greenstuff 'welds'. Not sure its a 100% accurate but it looks the part and I'm going to cover it in ice which should disguise any mistakes.

    Thanks.
I've made a start, painted the base and started wintering it.
The ice is a mixture of baking soda, gloss varnish and Vallejo still water. It's all a bit of an experiment but so far I'm happy.

Nice bit of work there, Paul. You've def caught the atmosphere.(y)
In the 50's, my old man was in the RN for his National Service. He had wanted the RAF, but his best friend convinced him to sign up for the navy and 'see the world'. My Dad was assigned to the Mediterranean fleet. His mate was posted to the North Atlantic. Needless to say they weren't friends after;)
