I just finished my first bust, Young Miniatures, USMC Iwo Jima 1945, although it could be any where in the Pacific after 1943

Very nice paint job, especially the facial tones.

Martin, I took an old paint brush about a #3 cut off to about an 1/8 of an inch.
roughed up the short bristles, and using payne's gray.
I dipped the brush in the paint then wiped off most of the paint and gently dabbed the brush in the 5 o:clock area.
Did this until I got what I wanted. Kind of like dry brushing, except I dabbed.

    Hi there Old T

Well done on finishing the first bust , like the way it's turned out , agree about the facial tones and the dirty uniform looks good

If I may the helmet camo looks a little bright perhaps a wash to take it back a bit ....but of course it could be a recent issue !

Why not enter a model into our FOTM comp as well

    Thanks for sharing

Old Tanker, Like you rendition of the USMC Young Bust. Way to pull off the twelve o'clock shadow! The olive drab color turned out well too! Thanks for sharing your work with us! I appreciate it(y)
