I wanted to tell everyone about this figure. My coworker has asked me to find and paint a figure of the Character "Sloth," from the Goonies movie. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Goonies

There is a toy version that shows up on Ebay and it never really go bought. So when this showed up here and I saw the size and the price as low as it was I made sure my coworker saw it and also how good a price it was compared to other kits of this size. Next thing I know I get a package in the mail and I am "gob smacked." as to how incredible this kit is.

First the package: The box had rigid foam cut in the outline shape of the body as seen in the pictures at the top of the post. The thing is the body is casted in two pieces so the foam cut protection was above and beyond what we usually get. This was my first WOW MOMENT!

Second the Casting: The parts are cast in a medium grey color. They are very crisp and have a load of detail. Since this was a 3Dscuplted figure that was printed then cast there are almost no printing layers from the original print. I say almost no layers as I think that the ones that I see may actually be texture of clothing. If you find any then I would wait until you primed it to see if they are supposed to be there. The parts have been engineered to slide right into place and fit perfectly. I dry fit the figure right out of the box and everything slid right into place. I started looking for the seam lines/ mold lines that needed to be cleaned up. I could not find them, because they were cleaned up before they shipped it to me!!! SECOND WOW MOMENT!
So I set up everything on the bench and grabbed my optivisor and started looking at the parts. They had sanded down the flash and mold lines, I only needed to get some finer sand paper and tidy up a spot or two. I found the resin to be really soft and I did not need to be my usual heavy handed sander. all that was left to do was to prime and start painting.

Conclusion: If you saw this and said to yourself "mmmm,....maybe!?!?!!???" Then drop what you are doing and go and order this figurine. Here is the line we always read when someone paints a figure for someone else. "This is not something I would buy and paint, but...." I am guilty of wanting to say it and had to throw it in there. The subject is way out of my usual military figures, but when you get one that is this nicely produced you have to yell it from the roof tops. I only hope my coworker will be impressed when he gets it.

I eagerly await to see what the artist will produce in the future (girls of arkham). I definitely will be the first in line to buy!!!!!!
