Another sublime project by this wonderful Marquismini.
I am ashamed to see an American know the old French regime better than the majority of French figurinists.
Congratulations again and it's not enough!

That book is a MUST have if you are into l'ancien regime. It is amazing and clarifies the "what shade of blue, red, etc." questions that are inherent in all 18-19th century subject figure painting.

    Hello Nap,
I actually don't recall how I ordered this book. But no worries. The Italian gentleman, Gabriele Mendella who wrote the book, can be reached by email (gmendella@hotmail.com) or via Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/LaMaisonDuRoy/. Gabriele does speak English and the book does come in French, Italian & English. It is a marvelous piece of research.
If you are into the Napoleonic Era (given your apparent nom de plume I assume you are), you need to follow Paul Dawson's research (a fellow Brit) at 'Confection Drouot: https://historicalequestrian.wordpress.com/2015/03/01/confection-drouot/.
I get periodic updates from Paul and he really tackles the issue of dye colours in this era. It is very well worth checking out.
    All the best,
    Jay
