Am grateful for your posts Martin, Edward, Graham, Wayne, Bagelman, Steve & Andy.
Nice to know you're liking this little guy. Couple more final photos that maybe of interest.

    Hi Futoshi
Am honoured by your acknowledgement too mate.
Inspired by your painting approach particularly little Yank.
Enjoy trying to mimic textures and get them looking realistic in miniature.
Sometimes it works, not always though. May also not appeal to everyone's taste
Latest projects have more variety of effects to capture too. Always learning...

Thanks Andrew & Steve for your support guys.
This was a fun wee fellow to do & will go well with Copper State's new Nieuport 17, due to land soon :)
And Ski - just come across a Japanese modeller renown for using a type of microscope to paint figures with!
Doing further research on this mate ;-)

Some maybe interested in what colours I used for Raoul's Horizon Blue uniform.
    I use AK Interactive's WW1 French Blue set https://ak-interactive.com/product/wwi-french-uniforms/
It's reliable, dries Matt which I think replicates fabric nicely.

Just curious about something in your painting: have you painted a cast shadow on the cloth below the hand holding the cigarette or is it your lighting that's casting it??

Added couple of dark background full resolution, zoom in shots.
May help see nothing extra added & can get pretty ugly when you get this close.

Re: "& can get pretty ugly when you get this close" ... Looks fabulous even up this close!

And thanks for the link. Guess I missed it because many of the enlarged images don't show.
