Superb sculpting by Antonio and a lovely Bogart from Jose. Fantastic !

Is this the beginning of a Napoleonic Busts series, similar to the American Civil War series being put out by FeR? If so, then I think this is a wonderful start. The style - face, headgear, chest to the armpits - means (for me) a lower price point, a smaller overall project for each bust, and a greater opportunity to amass a nice display. The vast variety of possible subjects would/should make such a series a major attraction to the legions of Napoleonics painters. This pose conveys a significant degree of action, especially when compared with the staid, classic poses of the Nemrod French Grande Armie series. Further, I think the "eyes looking upward" comments are a bit unfair - the effect shows both a high degree of technical skill, and a pleasing artistic departure from a conventional "eyes straight ahead" presentation. Looking at the figure, it seems that one is not limited to this approach for the eyes. In all, a very pleasing sculpt, and an excellent paint job, especially if this is to be the first in a continuing series!
