    Hi Guys

Starting to work on the Tommy's War 10th Liverpool Scottish bust , great sculpt will be painting it with the distinctive regimental brown leather belts as stated by Peedee in another thread .

Obviously he has dicing round the glengarry , but quite fancy doing him as an officer cadet with the white band around .....

Is this a possibility do you reckon as he has a leather jerkin ....I have found these photos of Scottish officer cadets but....

Question how was it put into place ...there looks line there is something at the front ..a button perhaps or

Did it just slip over and lightly sewn in place ? or

Was it fastened at the back ?

    Any help woukd be appreciated

Here's Paul version of the bust with the dicing

    Hi everybody

Quick update ....now all based up ...not sure about doing it as the officer cadet ...seems the easy option rather than do the dicing !!!

All in various makes of Acrylics as always , will be using Water soluable oils later

Off to do the face !!!..starting with the eyes

    Thanks for looking in

The 55th West Lancs Divisional Badges should be on both shoulders Kev.

I made a mold of it out of Miliput.
Then pressed it on a blob of semi-dry Greenstuff.

I think that's a great start Nap.....I know you work mostly in acrylics as do I but I'm very curious to your take on the water soluable oil paints that apply on top........keep up the good work

Nice stuff....I know it will get deeper in tone as your progress, but the soft look right now is interesting

    Hi Carl

This yours I take it ...love the finish on this , leatherwork looks great ....although I have done mine as an Officer cadet ATM ! ...I do like the dicing .

Nice addition of the rank and the shoulder badge looks good .

Keeping this as a reference ! ..shows how it should be done! ...going to have leather belts though on mine

I have this bust also. On the right shoulder is a rectangular patch , not round like on the left side.
If this is correct ? I wonder what colour it should be
    Thanks

    Hi Partner

WELCOME to PF good to have you here

Both arms should have round patch on them , the rectangular patch would be worn below the collar at the back so as he has a jerkin on its not seen .

Have a look at my completed version

Hope we see your version soon
