With this next piece I thought i'd move away from the military and enter into the movie field.
I have always been a movie fan and I like to do models from movies now and then, one particular bust related to the big screen became available a few weeks back now and from one of my favourite movies as well, when I saw it I was completely blown away by the piece itself and it was a no brainer for me that I had to have it.
The bust depicts Robert Shaws character from the movie blockbuster ' JAWS ' - ( Quint ).
I knew exactly what I wanted to do with regards to this piece and the backdrop I wanted.
I changed the piece by adding the green army jacket which quint wears onboard the orca during the movie, its just a personal thing, the bust is great anyway.
I set about creating the backdrop by depicting part of the cabin, for this I used sections of balsa,plastic-card and tubing with some balsa dowel used as well.
I used lots of photos from the movie as a reference and finally settled on a scene I was happy with.

The bust is beautifully cast with very minimal cleaning up,it also comes very well packaged in its own little hinged box which I thought was a nice touch as well.

its available from a company called white shark gaming studios, they also deal in plinths, gaming accessories, gaming bases, resin terrain, this is only their second resin bust to date.

The jacket is a great addition and a must for Quint. Is the cabin based on the film?
One of my favourite actors (along with Gene Hackman and Rod Steiger).
Hmmm--a 3 figure scene with Quint explaining the scar on his forearm.
    Might need a bigger boat.
