    Hello Planeteers,
Finally starting to work on these artlerymen .
While i am finishing some white coats for the last two regime ts left, i will ocassionaly work on the French Royal.Artilley present at Yorktown.
I will start by re-coating two chasseurs originaly from the saintonge regiment which were left out and put them to use , marching near the emplacement of the siege guns.
The whole artillery will include two 12 lbs canons , i will have to build the gun emplacement from scratch, and have their respective crews converted figures from Front rank and Trident , they are british artillery crew who will be converted to resemble the Frenchies.
Great amount of work ahead, but very excited to work on the las phase of the project.

I am using scale 75 deep blue and a dab of Vallejo dark sea blue for the coats, as for the pants and vest i am using a different blue, andrea sea blue and dab of scale 75 cantabric blue.
Always like to see a slight difference between the coat and the other gatments when they have the same color .
The other figure in the picture is a conversion i did from Trident , an american artillerymen to a Frenchie, the head with the pokalem hat is from Trident as well. 20161012_074157.jpg 20161012_082504.jpg

I was going to add the grenadier sword but decided to do the right thing and cutted the hilt guard and built the eagle head instead , i also shortened the sword.
The French Artillery introduce this short sword woth an eagle handle around late 1760's... french-model-1771-sword-copy-3.jpg 20161013_222256.jpg 20161014_080021.jpg

This just gets better with every set off figures you produce Daniel. I agree with Nap - master of the minis. Excellent work in such a small scale.

    Cheers

    Hello folks,
I am converting one of the front rank Artillery crew figures to a french Artillery gunner.
I added a collar, "shaved "the long lapels and replaced by the french style lapels, added some lenght to the turnbackas and will work on that tonight. 20161109_200444.jpg 20161110_185237.jpg 20161110_185251.jpg
