    Hello all,

I thought I'd try to sculpt a fantasy vignette, my version of a "I slayed the beast" type of thing where the monster is dead and the hero/heroine is proudly standing next to it. I don't have an exact idea of what the final posing & setting will be yet. The scale is 1/8 and it's sculpted in Chavant.

I've started sculpting the head of the monster: more bone than flesh, big teeth & I though it might have its eyes covered.

Thank you for looking. Comments welcome, as always.

    All the best,
    Elia :D

Thank you for your kind words, Dejan! I really appreciate your support. :)

I haven't decided if it will be the whole creature or just the head - I'll sculpt the head & see where it goes from there.

The head is more or less finished - now all I have to do is sculpt a monster body to go with it!

I thought at first that it would be just the head but Dejan's (Dekiman) comment inspired me to do the whole thing. If I could draw it would be a lot easier to come up with a concept but since I can't it's going to be done the hard way. Oh well, back to the clay it is!

    All the best,
    Elia :)

    Hello all!

Following a few failed attempts I finally settled on a spider-like body to go with the monster's head. Texturing was done by cross-hatching and then applying alcohol to smooth the surface and finally using a texture pad made of Sugru. I'll mold the different parts of the creature (head, body, legs) separately. Next step: figures!

Thank you for looking. :) As always, comments are welcome.

    All the best,
