Alles hat ein Ende - Berlin, april 1945

    Hello all!

this is my first post on this forum! Been looking around on the forum for a while now and thought is was time to show some of my work.
Just finished this little vignette, which I started out as a figure painting exercise with acrylics, especially regarding painting faces.

The scene depicts the fighting of the final days of WW2 in Berlin. I found a picture of the Oberwallstrasse in Berlin situated in may 1945 or just after the war. I recreated part of a building with Styrodur (or bluefoam).

All painting is done with Vallejo acrylics, except the building for which I used Tamia acrylics.
Most figures are from the Dragon range, the one on the left is an old figure from Verlinden and the Russian in the building is from Stalingrad.
The figures are more or less stock and where adapted with a little Magic Sculp.

    Please feel free to comment!

    Cheers,

    Rob.

    The finished scene.

Excellent.Very dramatic setting.I'm no great friend of modern conflicts but even I can tell that this is a very well thought out and executed composition.By the way, have you used any of Lazlo Adoba's books on creating buildings as inspiration for this?

    Excellently constructed and painted diorama.
The 'hidden' detail is particularly good, and viewing from any angle is equally interesting.
    Very, very well done.

    Cheers,

Thank you all for your kind replies!

@ Erik: thanks and see you at SMC! Can't wait to see you work!

@Oda: thank you very much! Though I'm familiar with the works of Laszlo Adoba (have his book building Diorama vol. 3) the building was a creation of my own. I used plates from blue foam (or Styrodur), different sizes and thickness to make it. With a sharp knife you can do almost everything with it.

    Cheers,

    Rob.
