Very nicely sculpted. I've never understood why RN and USN submarine captains (e.g. Lt Cdr Wanklyn, VC, DSO & Two Bars) are ignored but Kreigsmarine U boat captains sell abundantly.

I can't wait to see this one painted, btw I'm converting Youngs' LRDG, the one with the cap comforter to a RN guy with duffel coat hood and steel helmet for a friend, will try to post a pic in WIP/sculpting soon :)

Bought him today, will have to watch Das Boot again and take notes, although he does look like the live child of Jurgen Prochnow and Willem Dafoe

And what about a stiff-collared U-Boot captain from the Great War? Otto Weddingen for instance or a young Dönitz, nothing wrong about that IMO! 18_kplt_otto_weddigen.jpg

Trimmed and prepped, I might even try and do a proper WIP for him, watched Das Boot, twice, got lots of nice screen caps and googled the u boat service issue denim jacket, ironic the captain in the film wears a red white and blue plaid shirt, looking forward to the painting bit, scared, but looking forwards, now need to think of a suitable base.
