A great start on the face Grant, and I'm sure the end result will be up to your usual high level of veryniceindeedness.

    Hey Gellso,

Don't those diced squares start with red on top and white
below from the forward edge of the badge?

    Oh dear:(

You'll have to do them ALL again, again,
    (while I run for cover).

    Looks great that,

    Paul.

    Hi Tommi,

Mars orange for base, light rust for highs and then orange and light flesh for highest.

Shadows are deep red ink then sepia ink.

Still working on it and it's gone a bit satin so will need to apply matt varnish.

    Hi Paul,

You know me and 100 percent historical accuracy. Fortunately I have some life and won't even check if you're taking the piss...lol

First attempt was absolutely crap, second was better and I think this is my absolute best after taking ages on them.

Cheers for all who have commented.

You do realise Grant that the 93rd Highlanders only promoted Dark Brunettes from the ranks.:p
Very well done and well done for getting your hands on this classic.

Curses! Always fancied doing a ginge after seeing Davies Boudicca. Didn't really get my hands on it....it's a commission.

Thanks to all who took time to comment.

Its the inks that give it the sheen, that is what I have found. Thanks for the info on the colours
