Hello,

Recently I started one of the vikings from the newly released miniatures from Castle Miniatures.
I wanted them since I saw the fist preview pictures.

Finally I have the and chose the big guy with the big axe.

The figures are awesome and comes in two small boxes, kind of simple packing.





The sculpting is nice, at some places not so fine, but it is OK to me.
The weakness of this miniatures are the casting. I'm not sure why, but there are so many craks in different areas and it is noticeable that they are using two different materials for casting miniatures.
One is fine and smooth (cracks are here) but the other one's surface is very rough, uneven.
I attach some picture to show you.





I have no idea how to fix the shield and the other pieces.
The cracks are OK with some filer.

And here are some pictures of the painted parts.
They are not finished yet.

Great progress. Nice review of the figs aswell. I have two of the54mm and the casting is really good. May look out for these too.

Those cracks look like sculpted wear and tear on the clothing and shield.

Yes,...the cracks look sculpted but I think the shield texture looks like too much silicone spray in the mould.Painting is coming along great.Alex is great to work with and will make things right.
