Normally I never use the supplied base - but in this case there is an exception. For I like the presence of the monogram of Tsar Nicholas II at the base. Just too good that I leave it ...

As you can see on the pedestal-foot something is to neaten, what I have done yet...:

Since the base is a resin-solid casting, is quite something to swarf together ...:

I wear for this a breathing mask, as Resin is not even necessarily healthy...

At the end of the grinding orgy...:

Since so something must underneath to significantly increase the foot...:

Let's see, I hope can found something at the "Tactica" in Hamburg tomorrow ...

So now I must first my study suck ** sigh ** ...

I've been lucky and get at the "Tactica" in Hamburg a matching piece of foam for my base!

I really like this "rough" surface - fits very well for Resin-base, which also has such a surface.

With pen and glue together I menger adds both parts today, and I have bonded with "UHU Hart", for my usual two-component adhesive gets hot during curing and this the foam does not like...!

The joints I sealed with modeling plaster, so that the piece now looks as one piece...:

I agree with Nap about the addition of the foam and you too that the resin base is too good not to use!

    All the best,

Primed with "Army Painter" Grey ...:

Well, I've made quite some time thinking about how I now will paint the base. As "wood" - mmmh, because I have so many of.

I'd like to paint"Malachite" - but that would be too colorful for this bust and would color overshine.

Then I have myself remembered to the base of another figure of "Model Cellar" painted by Maurizio Fenucci....:

My bust is - apart from the face, the cockade on his cap, the strap of the bag and the shoulder pieces were, painted like monochrome - as a gray "stone " base would look really good.

    Tomorrow I will try...

Today I painted the back of the base as a "stone". Where "painted" really is not the right word, because painted is as nothing.

    I did it so ...:

    From these colors here ...

... I have mixed different shades and they prepared very watery ...:

Then I have several "stamps" folded from kitchen towels and dabbed with which the wet paint on the base broth.

As you can see, I have worked with various "stamps". This prevents a color becomes dominant.

And so the back of the base now looks - I'm quite happy with the result ...:

It Looks a bit like a grave stele the whole. This impression is - in view of 60,000 deaths alone on the Russian side in this war - certainly not undesirable

    Hi Martin,

That looks really impressive like the way the colours have been achieved and a very suitable reference to the grave stele .

    Bring on the bust!

Actually my bust is now finished and I could build the parts together ...:

But I still want to build an additional part itself, a gun fragment. Therefore, the finished parts are now packed first dustproof ...
