some of you has seen the article on the latest Frenceh Magazine Figurines dedicated to the subject of the Quintidi parade.
for the other that didn't received the magazine I'd like to show you here the second figure of the serie ( after Lannes that you can see at this link http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/jean-lannes-1800.62023/ )

we are speaking about Michel Duroc one of the closest friend of Napoleon. As you can easily understand the figure is already finished but I prefer to divide the thread as an in progress figure in order to show the different details as better as possible

Eisembach give me some great choice to match the pose of the horse, rider is Metal Modeles hussar


saddle cloth is made in Copper sheet, horse head comes from Metal Modeles range with all the harness ready and weel built


saddle fringes were made with twisted lead wire and glued one by one. Electric tape was used to fix the chevrons on the saddle

there is an interesting point in this figure ( more than one ...sigh) the flying pelisse behind the shoulders!
I used a trick...I made a mould of the Metal Modelels pelisse only in the cords area. after the mould dry i pressed some terracotta inside the mould and, when close to dry, I took the parts and positioned them as necessary. The sleeves were added later

I'm using milliput terracotta. It's very soft but not really different from white or others ...

the advantage.. also the color that remain agreeable when worked and easy to see

Thank you Ivo....it looks so shiny when worked it resembles Duro !
It certainly does a fine job.
I always believed it was gritty because of the name terracotta.
I have never used it..... but I shall now !

I absolutely love this figure.
