    Hello.
I had a really serious break from painting (more than 2 years I belive) - due to lack of time, but this model just called me to paint it :). So I started - Pegaso's Ashigaru 90 mm. For now only his trousers (I dont know proper name for this clothing) are finished.
I thought painting trousers would be most challenging (freehand), but I think it may be the armour. Anyway, I hope you like it, despite of the pictures quality.

So, my work is advancing slowly. My prediction was correct - the armour is much more time consuming and ahreder to paint then the trousers. Soo many detail and fine lines to paint ... On the other hand, one doesn't need special blending skills to paint it. I m considering painting some simple pattern on the purple parts (plates?).
I hope u like my work.

What memories. I painted this one some years ago. Konnov done a great work sculpting. I like a lot your painting. Slowly but secure. The freehands are great (much better than mine) and transitions very smooth. IMO you could take more risk with stronger shadows in trousers. 90 mm is no a scale to get a lot of contrast, but this miniature allows it.

    Thanks for comments guys.
Marc, Reddo, Samson, Huw63, DancingShaman - thanks for your earlier posts, I forgot to thank you. DancingShaman - yes, this model is still for sale.
Metal Extremo - I was quite happy with this trousers, and now I'm having second thoughts :/. You may be right about the contrast. There is a big chance I will try to improve it. Would you mind sharing photos of your work with this figure ?

Sorry Ineluki, i was out for lack of time, ank just read your message now. Of course, here go the photos. Was painted more of ten years ago, and all the parts are improved today. Was my first figure that went to a competition. Not won nothing, but i understood some of my mistakes watching it with the others participants, and was the beginning of some meetings with people of miniaturism that are friends now, so i've got specials feelings with this japanese.

If you want photo of some puntual part say it. As you see, a little more of contrast in my figure will give more life and charm, and some glaces of violet red between shadows and base as tone will improve it.

You are doing a fantastic job. This piece is one of the best Samurai figures ever produced by any company. The only thing that Pegaso got wrong is the title. That amount of equipment and of this quality points to a samurai not an ashigaru.Again fantastic work,so sad you don't have more time.
