Cheers Bob. I was going to paint this in conjunction with a couple of other projects I have underway but they've fallen by the wayside and I can't leave this alone. :D

    Hi Roger
Just a thought... I notice that you have assembled nearly all the parts of this figure prior to painting I usually mount most of the parts on cocktail sticks, paint and then assemble, do you find it easier/convenient to do it your way or whats your thoughts?
    Like it by the way!
    Cheers

    Cheers John.
To answer your question I try to assemble as much of a figure as I can prior to painting.
    a. When it comes to the application of glue I'm a dribbler.
    b. I'm a compulsive fiddler with paint mixes and if I didn't paint it as one piece the arms probably wouldn't match the torso. :D
    c. It gives me a better "feel" for the figure.

First highlights and shade added to the greatcoat and trousers with thin layers of oil. I'll go over these areas again once dry and repeat as necessary.

Thats looking superb Roger. Of course the two worst colours for going shiny, are red and blue. but you'll have that sorted.
    best regards

Cheers Bob, I've got a jar of something special in case of any unwanted shininess. ;)

Update time. I've started weathering the clothing, built up the kit supplied base to fit the wooden base and made a start on the Chassepot.
