I just had to have this figure when I first saw it amongst the new releases a while ago. It has not disappointed at all and I would highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in the Napoleonic era, or in the man himself. Painted with my usual mix of Vallejo acrylics and artists oil paints. DSCN0558.JPG DSCN0559.JPG DSCN0560.JPG

As always, I'm happy to entertain any questions or comments.

Bloody hell, that's an excellent job with the paint brush fantastic all round. What have you used for the gold lace?
I was also impressed with the figure when it was first shown on here.

Thanks everyone. I am sorry for the poor quality of the photos. I just cannot get the hang of getting a decent digital photograph to share with you all. The shading on his trousers for example has been pretty effectively washed out in these pictures, and I don't know how to adjust the settings on the camera to remedy that problem.

To answer Bob's inquiry on the lace, I started with some vallejo acrylic undercoat in a dark reddish brown (I'm at work and don't know the Vallejo number I used). After that I used a delicate wash of burnt umber to bring out the detail. When that was dry, I lightly dry-brushed with artists oils starting with Yellow Ochre, and then adding Naples Yellow and a very small touch of Titantium White for the highest highlites.

Thanks very much guys, it truly is a fantastic figure. Can't help but get good results with this quality of sculpt. I imagine there will be a lot of these on show tables in the coming months.

Thank you very much gents, really glad you like the effort. I used a combination of Vallejo Prussian blue with a touch of grey-black as an undercoat. Using oils, I did shadows with lamp black and highlited using Prussian blue/ Paynes grey and Naples yellow/ titanium white.

Outstanding work on the lace, Glenn! The uniform blue is great too! Great atmosphere!
Love the white! Are you so kind to share your mixes. Looks great!
Can't wait to see it in Chicago this fall! ;)

    Zeno :)
