Here's something I'm trying to finish for Christmas , a 54 mm figure from the old Phoenix range but now produced by S&D Models , it's a present for my daughter in-law .
The horse is in oils , the hound is in acrylics and the huntsman is a combination of both mediums . chippy

Looks well Chippy but that's the weirdest looking WWI plane I've ever seen :p

I like that very much Chippy. I'm looking forward to seeing the Bedale Hunt meet here on Boxing day, it's quite a spectacle and a Christmas tradition.

Oh I don't know Steve, the way those huntsmen fly when the horse doesn't like the look of a wall:nailbiting::wtf::facepalm:!!!
    Nice job Chippy(y)(y).
    Merry Christmas, Gary.

    Hi Chippy,
Very nice Christmas present and I'm sure she will love it. Don't forget to write on the Christmas tag, "wet paint do not touch";)
    cheers

Thanks you all for your replies .
There's a simple reason for that Steve, my daughter in-law neither likes or owns a WW1 plane but she does love and own a horse ;) :p .
Like you Billy I'll pop along to one of the local hunt meetings near me , it's a great spectacle and a chance to get some close up pictures of horses for future projects .

Hi Richie, I got all the oils painted last week so I know they are well dried out . I've got most of the other final bits painted today in acrylics , the only thing I'm left with to complete are the reins which I will do first thing tomorrow , a quick Humbrol undercoat and a splash of acrylics a dob of super glue and it's done .
I really enjoyed this piece not having done a figure for some time , I've been through my stash and selected three figures to kick of the new year with so you might see more of me next year

Hallooooo Chippy: Well, my good friend, it is so good to
see you post one of your projects here on PF. Like me,
as someone who peruses PF almost daily, you don't post
images here very often. So good to see your fine work.
I was particularly impressed with the sculpting of the dog.
As over the years, in smaller scales, animals, especially
small animals are not sculpted too well, IMHO. But
your Beagle looks right on Mate. Well painted too.
My best Christmas wishes to you my friend, and to
your lovely family, Warm regards, The Miami Jayhawk
