    Hi pF friends,

This is a commission work I've done for Japanese Modelling magazine "MM Graffiti 1970's" by Masahiro Doi. will be released on Nov.27 in Japan. Figures are one-offs, fully sculpted by me. hope you like it.

Why one offs....that seems a lost opportunity by the kit manufacturer.

Excellent. Conveys a real feeling of time and place. The figures reflect the characters of those that served in the LRDG.

Pity they're a one-off - a manufacturer should look at producing either the figures or as a complete set.

    Cheers

I've been viewing this on Facebook Kaz and I'm blown away.

    Absolutely stunning work.

Agree with the above comments, I'd snap up those figures in a heartbeat if they were available.

    Kaz!
One-off or commercial - your work as a sculptor can be placed against the top class-sculptors within the hobby and who knows - I see a day coming when you teach some of them to suck eggs:D ! Congratulations(y)(y)(y) and yes - beside the wooowing I feel a twinge of remorse that these guys are not commercially available:cry: .
    All the best!

Perfect composition of figures with armour, a stunning work. A great sense of atmosphere and action.

Inspires me to follow up an idea I have for something similar based on a photo featuring my great uncle. He wasnt LRDG but an infantry captain in North Africa and the photo shows him with his fellow officers in their desert vehicle looking very ragged and worn - he was sadly killed in the build up to El Alamein.

    Cheers

An expertly handled piece - a refreshing change from all the German stuff out there. Congratulations - this work captures the look and feel of the time perfectly.

Thank you all, everybody, for your warm compliments!

Answer to "Why one-off?" is because I didn't have time to cast them, I was allowed only 2 months from zero-start to finish this vignette and sending it to the client magazine.
Building gun-track took more time than I thought and I had to re-sculpted figures three times 'cause I didn't satisfied with the result.
I wish I had more time to brush up them and to paint more. But anyway I did my best in limited time. It was really tough work to do.... :)

Superb. Pity the figures aren't going to be available commercially. Whisper it quietly but I have a few 1/35 North Africa campaign British/Commonwealth vehicle kits stashed away and this piece is something I would love to aspire to, if only.

    :wideyed:and:sour:!

Kaz I am most impressed and at the same time very disappointed.

Disappointed of course because I cannot get my hands on such a fine set of figures on a subject I have always had a great interest in. Nonetheless this display, as does all of your work, continues to impress.

The modeling of the Chevolet with its onboard armament and gear are superbly handled. The crew members are so realistic that they give life to the scene, and are a cut above anything out there that is available commercially. Your painting and weathering of the truck and figures again is expertly handled, and is signature 'Kaz'.

Whom ever it is that gets to retain this fine piece of work in their display cabinet is one lucky so and so!

Two months from start to finish!!...that is amazing Kaz!

It would take me two months just to paint one figure, let alone sculpt all three, and do all the construction and paint on the vehicle.

Once again, just brilliant work Kaz!

    Cheer's,
    Jeff.
