I believe that is an Italian camo, you should find plenty of pictures on the web.

    Hi!

I belive the figure is based on the pictures of Max Wünsche from Normandie, the same ones that Ebroin based his bust for Young Miniatures upon. The jacket is made of italian camo fabric.
If you do a search on this forum for 'Max Wünsche' I belive you will find some references that can aid you during painting!

    Best regards,
    Sverr

Like Sverr already mentioned, plenty of refs via Google, eg. "Italian camouflage panzer" yields a lot. Here's one example:

As Sverr mentioned, it is based on the wartime photos of Max Wünsche.
He is wearing non-standard italian camo jacket. It has elastic waist band
    or a draw string inside.

As you know, many German officers wore privately made uniform using camo material.
    :)
If you can add two front pockets under the waist, it might work.

Thanks Taesung, likely do so per your advice... alternatively can use Alpine 35172 too... Only issue is spring / autumn, u-boat leather may be too thick and hot...

No U boat leather actually is very 'cool'!
At least, that's what many must have thought in the HJ division; many wore the leather jacket in the Normandy summer.
    Plenty of pictures.

Yes, leather uniforms were worn during the Normandy battle.
