Wow I really needed to get my sculping drapery mojo back. I was fighting the folds in the Captain Z figure. That is never a good thing. One of the best exersies I ever did was to do a Bernini stye angel for 21st Century toys. After that drapery came much easier. Sadly that was lost when the company went under. Luckly I was able to fix yesterdsys mistakes, and get the new pant leg done.A lot of this will be covred by his coat tails but it is better to have more then less you never know just how much might show.

So got the coat tails a little long and after looking at some more photos of Tim I realized the materal of the coat was not as heavy as I rememberd it being. So I trimed off the exesse length and added sme extra wrinkles to make it look a little less heavy. It gives it a little more life. Still a little more clean up around the bottom edge to do.

A few small updates of the figure. I raised his left sholder up a bit it just seemed very low before. I started on his coat today it is a little rough at the moment, but should come togher in the next day or so.

Finially an update of Captain Z. I had a false start with his belt it was too thick and had a square buckle. I removed that and did a new one from foil, and added the round buckel. It is just the basic shapes right now. I added his left sleeve and started to paly with the placemnt of this epaulets. They are from the spars box but will be modifyed before this figure is finished.

Ok so need to update this a bit. I finished adding buttons to sleeves and back of coat. I also got the collar brass on. I added the wreath to his belt buckle. I also need to add a Z for Zed to the center. Last thing will be the octupus breast badge. then clean it up sharpen some details.

I have finially finished up the sculpting of this figure. I now need to take it apart so I can cast it up. It seems a lot of Tim's freinds want copies of this figure. So it seems I have not just done this for myself.

So this figure reached the molding stage week before last but I had to get the new Kings Raod figure of Dougals Fairbanks finihsed first. So afer the castings were finished for that figure I started on Captain Z and found that I did not like the way the figures arm joint was just below the epaulet and did not blend well so I decided to re do the top of the right arm. I resculpted the arm so that the epaulet hads the seam. It is much better now. I will be remolding the arm and body this weekend. That being said I did asemble one and prime it so I could at least start the paint of one soon. My partner in Kings Raod and I have deiceded to offer the Capt. Z figure as part of our line there was enough intrest to produce it for Tim's friends.

Still a very cool project mate. Love it so far! Re your post about not knowing what will show on the finished model, nothing worse than when you find out too late!

Very ture. Thankfully the resin molds are not too expensive so the those two little molds are not a bad trade off for a better figure in my book. It is a better fit all around I think I know just where to put the pour spouts so that I get much cleaner cleaner parts this time.
