Following on from the last posting of the completed stormtrooper I have now made a start on the 2nd bust of the british trench raider.

I had a few hours peace and quiet today to make a start on this,i always start with the face and headgear and once completed I then move to the rest of the bust and work my way down it.

The flesh was all done in oils with mixes of Burnt Sienna / Tittanium White / Burnt Umber / Naples Yellow / Veneitian Red / Sepia, these were finished over a GW acrylic flesh basecoat.

The helmet cover was done with exactly the same process.

The pupils and eye details I will finish on the next sitting.

Weathering was done using umber and raw sienna mixes.

Many thanks Rodger for the comments mate,i thought I would add a unit insignia to give it something extra, these markings are the 1st battalion Royal fusiliers / 24th division which saw action on the somme at delville wood in 1916.

Apologies for the delay since the last posting, just a short illness I've had to contend with but I'm on the road to recovery now :).

I felt I lost quite a few days progress recently so I really set my stall out last weekend to get this bust finished, all I need to do now is finish the trench section and then both busts can be added to completition, this I will add as a separate posting to follow shortly.

The british trench raider here was finished as I do all my pieces with GW acrylic basecoats and finished in oils and acrylic metallic colours with oil washes.

The details of the bust I have listed below for anyone interested in purchasing one.

'Shhh' WW1 British Trench Raider - 19013 - Produced by Paul at Model Cellar / www.ModelCellar.com

The bust was sculpted by Carl Reid,i don't think any introduction is required on this site about carl,he is one of the leading sculptors in the UK and has sculpted many great pieces.

The bust is available in the UK from Mr Steve Kirtley at www.skminiatures.co.uk as is the German Trench Raider / MC19014

Many thanks for looking and for the continued support throughout the project (y)

Awesome work on the top end of number two Brian.
You've already got the effect of that horrid mud showing through brilliantly.
I can feel a real peach on the horizon.
    All the very best,
    Keith
