I have completed my first 32mm (or any scale to be honest) fantasy figure. This is the Ax Faction one I did an Open Box review of. I know it could be much better but it was fun to play with a small scale figure of this quality.

Thank you, Yes, it comes with the figure. Supposed to be a severed trolls head turned to stone. These are really nice little figures, most come with an interesting base :)

I have re posed it though, she is supposed to be stood with her left leg on top and the right lower on the head but I thought she would look good leaping into battle, so to speak....

The Troll head is really well painted.
I think you should take some of the tecnique's you used and try them on a figure:)obviously with different colours

Cheers guys, nope it certainly will not be my last even though I found the freedom of what colours to use quite scary!!! Good excuse to start collecting fantasy art pictures for inspiration and boy, what a lot of great artwork there is out there :)

Thank you Paul, plenty of room for improvement but just a glimmer of starting to get the hang of it :).

The Kraken Hunter is a very nice looking piece, the base is really good, a hint of Steampunk in that one I think, it's on my list. Really fancy the Druids Daughter mounted on a giant Hare, amazing concept.

    Yay, great stuff.
I''m going with a "smaller" list this year
I do think, unlike some of the older smaller figs,
by the time you've put many of this new generation of minis together and had a good fill, wash and Daub
you get as much fun as with a bigger kit.
When you go back to something bigger that then feels, in some respects e
    asier by comparison.
    Hey It's ALL good.

Have to agree, I was amazed when I received this kit through the post, I expected it to be two parts, the figure and the trolls head not the seven parts that it came in. It went together like a dream and is superbly detailed, turned my head to doing more fantasy and to just what quality of figure is available at this scale. Above all, they are fun! As you quite rightly say "it's all good" :)

Nicely done! I can really appreciate how your skin tones and your detail on her face have come out, in that tiny, tiny scale.

    Prost!

Andrea (among others) do a nice selection of fantasy pieces in 54mm, not your scale I know but definitely worth a look. Detail is good and a bit easier to paint (imho), or for bigger pieces, have a look at Scale 75 (erm..75mm) ;)

    Cheers,

Thanks guys, to be honest I will have a crack at any scale so long as the subject interests me. I do think the small scale are fun though and, as Paul said above, makes the larger scale more interesting when you have a go at them.

Nice job on this one. Definitely a different experience working on those 28mm and 32mm scale figures.

Oh and thanks for tipping us off to Ax Faction. I will definitely have a look through their figures and hopefully get one to paint!

Graham; are you wanting honest feedback for your work? I don't want to offer it unless it is wanted. What paints are you using BTW?

I don't mind honest feedback, I know there are issues lol. I am using Vallejo acrylics but I do have a set of artists acrylics, tube type. I have tried oils in the past but to be honest, I would rather work with acrylics.

Biggest problem I have at the moment is getting a chalky look as I build highlights then it starts to look a bit dirty. Not sure if I am overworking the paint, thinning it too much/not enough.
