    Comment says:
The photo above shows the aid kit in wear, tied to the top of a helmet net-this is among the earliest known photos showing this practice. It was taken in Normandy near Chateau Colombieres in June, 1944. The trooper, whose helmet was also painted with the white Geneva Cross of the 326th Airborne Medical Company, was S/Sgt John "Woody" Woodrich.

Not really my era, but with the quality of this piece I could be sorely tempted.

Jim, I wasn't out to take away your opinion, all I meant was a lot of exceptions are made in the forces as you know, it looks like we both did the same length. :)
Of course you can post your views I didn't say otherwise, I only suggested unless we have seen every picture it is possible and I was defending a fantastic bust that's all
    Best wishes

Holy cow this is a fantastic sculpt. Could be my first bust ever. The likeness is 100%.
Would be soooo great if some legs could be sculpted for it too.

Anyway, it wasn't my intention to stir up a s@&t storm. Just pointing out a very common mistake that photographic evidence proves otherwise. If Hollywood is the basis, then title it as such. But if you call it a historical piece, then expect this. By the way, I didn't point out inaccuracies with the patch did I? It's a modern patch. AGAIN, it's a nice looking bust. Enjoy...

The irony is that Damian Lewis doesn't even wear the patch on his helmet in BoB - so leaving it off would make the bust more accurate to both the film version and historical dress during Normandy.

Would be Interested to know more about the alternative head that is mentioned??

    Cheers

Jim, it is an M-1942, not a M-1943 as worn in Holland.

Enough of this , let's drink beer now!

    Cheers,
    Jon.

The sculpt is so incredibly well done I would have thought it was a 3D printing rendition, way too accurate on the face. Hats off to the sculptor, one heck of a talented man!!

    Cheers, Ski.
