Joe, thank you! ;) Gentlemen, what color should be the inside of the collar, black or red? Drawing I found it red....

I'm just about to start this one soon Nick, he's all primed and ready to go. I'll be watching closely (and probably shamelessly copying what you do) (y)

He's looking sweet so far mate. No idea about the collar, research isn't one of my strong points ;)

    Cheers,
    Billy

    Good evening Nick,

Did this one some time ago and would like to confirm that the colour on the inside of the collar is indeed red as supported in C E Franklin's book " British Napoleonic Uniforms "

Not sure mine is up to your standard but here is a shot of my rendition,

Thank you very much for your comments! ;)

Thank you! Good luck in the painting of your work!

Tim, excellent means I'm not mistaken with the color of the collar. I like your work is accurate, in soft colors. (y)

Absolutely lovely! (y) Wish I could paint like that. I really like the black bordering. It really makes the detail pop. Can you tell me how you got the black inside border lines on the collar? Did you use a fine tipped pen?

    Thanks for the pics!

Chris, Kevin, Gary, Jeff, Thank you very much! Glad you liked the work! :)

I painted a black border of a fine brush. Not a pen.

Slightly modified the knapsack: putty damage on tissue.

And added circle on number regiment.

    Hi Nick ,

Nice painting , love the fleshtones ..good to see the inside of the collar being painted correctly and not just with the black stock showing if the collar is open .

The facing colour looks quite "lemony" rather than yellow is this just the base colour ?

Like the reds as well that you are using ...you say Acrylics and Enamels ..what are you using for what area's

    Thanks for sharing
