Name of a dangerous fish but also one of the most succesful comic book series edited by Dargoud.
Scriptwriter Jean Dufaux and illustrator Jérémy Pétiqueux created almost a cinematografic style in their work .
The stories take us back to times when Pirates ruled the world . The serie is drawn in a very raw realistic style .
The idea to create this bust came from the cover of the first album .
Searching the net I discovered some detailed concept art the makers released , so I could have a pretty good idea of the end result .
The bust is started from a naked bust made in resin .
The sculpting was done using green stuff ( duro ) for resculpting the jawbones and the details of the scares in the face .
The clothing was done using magic sculpt and leadfoil ( for the buttons ).
The piratehat is done also using magic sculpt .
A real challenge was the hair because in most of the drawings the loose hair was waving in the wind coming from underneath the hat and a long ponytail . So I decided to keep the long ponytail and let it hang lower than the bust itself creating a more longer look from behind .
The bust now goes to the painter , a fellow female member of the club who does the paintingjob .
She uses acrylics for the basic layers and oils for the end result.
Some more pictures will be posted when its finished .

    Ps :
Maybe I decide to create a complete figure in 54mm during a next project

    Pretty Kool.
I'd love to see this character as a full figure... 54mm is great... 75mm would be perfect!

Will the bust (and potential full fig) be commercial pieces?
