Is this too rough to produce as a kit? The texture? does it need more work?
    Cheers Folks.

I like darker tones in photos because they are dramatic and intriguing, but when you post for critique, may I suggest taking photos with more light and putting the figure against a light background? I tried photoshop-ing your photos, but they're just too dark for me with my limited skills to fix them. Please re-post with lighter, brighter photos.

    All the best,
    Dan

I like this bust a great deal and the Sumo too. I had a look at it on your blog, where you have posted more photos. The sculpting is good, but it does need some further cleaning up for it to be ready to cast and offer commercially. Resin castings show all the imperfections on a master and if anything make them look worse!

If you go to the market with a bust that needs further finishing you lay yourself open to criticism. There is a big difference between posting up personal work and commercial work. People will generally be positive and supportive about personal projects, but are far more critical about commercial products. After all you are hoping they are going to part with their money.

With a little refinement this could be a great bust, but I think it's work taking the time to do that refinement if you want to release it.

I agree with what Rob has said in regards to this bust, get it as perfect as possible then have a good caster produce copies for you, if you can create an interesting bust such as this & the Sumo too and then get high quality castings then you stand a chance of being on to a winner that will sell.
    I like them both.
    Cheers

I think as an 'Onna-bugeisha' it doesn't stand out as such..... the sculpting is quite good, I feel I must ask, what makes this a female samurai?

While it is very challenging to capture the essence of the figure in just the head and shoulders, the hairstyle and style and clothing doesn't quite lead me in that direction of thought....

I've added some images, some manga based, some historical....

However, I feel as though you have captured the oriental style of facial structure for a female, high cheekbones, and the lidded eyes....

Hope this helps, I can see the effort you've put in,

    Cheers

Going on the lighter pics I'd go for a futuristic look as below, that's the vibe I get from it
