Alex Ovechkin plays for the Washington Capitals in the NHL, but here he is wearing the uniform of Moscow Dynamo I believe, which is the team he played for during the lockout from September until last week.

There is a whole league in Russia, the Kontinental Hockey League, that can boast a very high level of professional hockey. Many players who are Russian ( and a fair number of Canadians too) played in the KHL recently because of the labour dispute in the NHL. This is a great figure, and an excellent likeness of Ovechkin. I think it would be even better with his helmet (perhaps an option?) and the Moscow Dynamo jersey is a great idea.

I am currently enjoying a game between my Edmonton Oilers, featuring Nail Yakupov and the Los Angeles Kings....VERY grateful that NHL hockey is back:)

You could smash his face up a bit to make it more realistic... :p. It's very well done and I'm a hockey fan!!

I think its a great figure but you will have competition from the line of NHL figs put out by Mcfarland Toys (I think) that can be acquired very cheaply already painted to a reasonable standard. Not sure if they do an Ovie figure though and yours is surely much better. Good luck with it.

Looks fantastic, but the stick still looks illegal to me ;)

PS. Would be interested in some other NHL figures
