    Hi everybody,
I'm here again to show one of my older works: this time is a very iconic uniform for the Napoleonic period. I slightly modified a 54mm Metal Modeles piece (Chasseur a pieds de la Garde Imperiale) into a foot grenadier. The conversion is actually pretty simple - I changed both arms, the head and some minor detail of the uniform.
Primary source of inspiration was the painting I attached, by Bellangè. The position is not exactly the same, but I tried to capture the melancholic mood of the original painting.

I hope you like it, and I know that the pics are slightly dark, but... I like them that way.

    Ciao,

You pulled this conversion off very well Marco. Your painting is excellent and in particular I like how you depicted his hair, the backpack and the hat. Overall a beautiful work (y)!!

I like the difference shades of white, it's more rich in my opinion, and real.

    Thank you, guys.
I forgot to add that is a 54mm piece, but I suppose it's quite obvious.

    Ciao,

    Wow, i am speechless..great pose,conversion and paintjob.
You really capture a great "melancholic" pose on this grognard , i have the same painting of Bellange in my bedroom, great portrayal of a soldier.
    Best regards

Hello Marco, Well thought-out conversion. Very vivid colors choices in your painting on this figure. Definitely an eye-catcher. Excellent, Marco. Regards, SG(y)

Thank you guys, you're too kind.

@Joe: I tried to suggest the powder that les grognards used on their hair, a legacy of the Ancien Regime perhaps.
@MarquisMini: am I right in thinking that you really like Napoleonic era? When I painted the grenadier I desperately looked for a bigger and better picture of Bellangè's painting, without success unfortunately.
@All: I'm really really glad that you appreciate this piece... I have another one to show, and I hope you'll like that as you liked the previous ones.

    Ciao ciao,
    Marco

I am a great admirer of the Napoleonic era, my particular interest is on the French Army of the "Ancien Regime" more towards the end of the monarchy, but always have an admiration for Napoleon and his military machine.
