I am pleased to show you the latest release from ST Models 1/10 bust - 79th Cameron Highlander, Waterloo [ST10-001] Sculpted by Carl Reid and box art by Man-Jin Kim.

The kit consists of 13 resin parts and one brass pole. All parts are packed in a sturdy foam lined box for protection of all parts. There is some rather outstanding box art by figure company owner Man-Jin Kim.

A close inspection of the kit parts show an exceptional level of both sculpting and casting quality. This is among some of the best casting I have seen in this scale with only the small mould blocks to remove.

    3.jpg

A close up and three views of the wonderfully detailed head and face that Carl has sculpted into this piece, the finish and detail are very smooth and show sharp detail with no imperfections. We can also see the other parts of the head components and placement for fitting of the parts.

    4.jpg 5.jpg

Front and rear views of the torso showing high level of sharp detail and the classic mottled underside of the bust that Carl is renowned for on his pieces. The arms attach exact and as shown in the photos no gaps or movement once keyed into the torso.

Spear head and other kit parts, the spear pole is resin wrapped brass pole which will need careful removal of the mould block and some light sanding to restore the round profile.

    Conclusion:
An outstanding piece in both sculpted detail quality of casting, very minimal clean-up and easy assembly of parts. This is a very exciting piece to come from this newly formed company and I look forward to some more of the future releases, highly recommended *****

    Hi Tommi ,

Great review this has a wonderful character in the face , perhaps the only thing I would have preferred a separate brass pole rather than one wrapped up in resin ...but as you said careful removal is needed .

I have thsi one and can vouch for everything you mention its a great subject and sculpt

Looking forward to more from S T

Thanks for the review and I agree. It is a beaut. Very little in way of mould lines and fit overall was very good. As with any resin piece, care has to be taken in the removal of the casting blocks. Only (minor) problems I had with my copy were....
    1. Air bubble on top of hackle, essentially empty of resin. Easily rectified with milliput.
    2. I found the furrow between the eyebrows a little too prominent. Rectified with a little sanding

I had all clean-up and sub-assembly finished within a couple of hours. I've started (and plan to finish) undercoating and pre-shading this week. Then break out the oils!!!!!

    Cheers
