Really nice looking figure :) ! Makes me anxious to start mine. My only nit picks are that the jump uniform ought to be more of a khaki shade with patches on the elbows and knees in a greener tone. The M3 Trench knife scabbard was typically a leather color. Its possible some GI spray painted his scabbard green, I just have'nt seen it that way. Finally, the T-handled shovel is mostly seen in olive drab. Now if you were dipicting the guys that went into Holland then you would see the pants and field jacket in OD. Excellent job on the face especially the hairy growth  ! How did you come up with the newsprint, did you make a decal ?

From the research I undertook it seemed that the US uniform was in a continuous state of flux and a mix and match approach seemed appropriate. As for the knife it was apparently supplied by various manufacturers, the earlier ones with a leather sheath and later one fabric. But I'm no expert.

Very true. In any case, you have a really cool figure for the display cabinet :)!

Thank for the +ve comments - the newspaper is a decal created from news headlines of the time. Very tricky to apply but worth the effort.
