Hello, greetings to everybody and many thanks for all the flattering comments!

I must say that the figure, or rather the whole scene, is a little gem. Angel Terol has taken care of about every single detail of both the character and the room. Painting this scene has been a gratifying and enlightening experience, because we, figure painters, are normally used to painting uniforms and military subjects.

In order to decide how to proceed painting all the details of the scene and the characteristic design of Shelock's attire, I had to make an initial provisional assembly, to locate the sources of light, both from the general overhead lighting and the secondary sources coming from the gas lamps and the chimney.

After that, painting is a matter of patience and persistence. It is a very entertaining miniature, with different materials represented, and small details that set the scene in the characteristic atmosphere of the Victorian era and provide the particular personality of the renowned detective.

Scale 75 has made a notorious effort to give this reference lots of quality and dedication to detail. From the high quality casting to the presentation of the finished product, in a specially designed box which simulates an old book, which can even be collected and put into your book shelve once the figure has been finished. The manufacturer also provides with the kit a matt vinyl adhesive representing the wallpaper, that even has the printed representation of the lamp lights, as well as another vinyl with a mirror finish, which is already cut with the shape of the mirror frame so that it just needs to be put in its final location.

I just want to conclude giving my thanks to your kind words, to Scale 75 team and to A. Terol, for giving me the chance to paint this great novelty. I of course am at your entire disposal in case you have any doubts or questions concerning both the assembly and the painting of the scene.

    Kind regards and happy investigations...!
