Here's my next sculpt, it's a 90mm figure. It's a been couple years since I finished her and I haven't done any sculpting since. I need to get back into it. It's all Magic Sculpt except some wire and the flagstones which are sheet styrene.

She's painted in oils and I tried something different on the skirt. I mixed a lot of powdered metallic pigments into the paint to try and get a somewhat sparkly appearance. It only sort of worked, but it did give it a give it a kind of whipped frosting appearance which I liked a lot.

Enough playing with photos for a while now, I need to finish painting some stuff!

I like these everyday life pieces (y) they are much more difficult to do than one would think since we see the references around us on a daily basis, unlike Roman Centurians! ;)

    James,

I like your work very much, did you do the dog also?

    James,
Great little sculpt, nice everyday moment....

It may be the photos angles, just to me, the hips seem a bit wide for the stance.

Overall, I like the casual feeling of this, from a Paris lady to some New York casual fashionista.....

just such a nice, natural feel to figure.

well done, looking forward to more of your efforts as you get your groove back

    Cheers

Gordy, Nick, Jamie & Mark, thanks for commenting! I did sculpt the dog, it was actually quite fun to do. It's funny, the hips only looked wide after I added the skirt. I suppose it's all the tiered ruffles on it. I found an old cell phone WIP photo which shows the basic body before adding arms, clothes, hair and the dog.

I hate when stuff like that happens!

    It's a nice piece tho!

I'd be sorely tempted to saw them off and reposition. It'd be easy enough.

I like it, yep the hips or her stance does look a bit wide but the rest is very well done. My favorite part is the dog, he looks just like a schnauzer, perfect.

Thanks for checking her out, guys! This is an old one though so I'm not going to make any changes. Just hoping each new one I do comes out a little bit better!
