    Hi Martyn,

    I use a mix of humbrol gold, raw umber, winsor green, ivory black (all oil colours).

    try to use a dark mix to the bottom and to the recess parts and pure gold to the very top edges.
    You can then make a mix with prevalent green and apply washes.

    As general notes, the blue tatoos of the celts are not tatoos at all, were war paint meaning that were not permanent neither too much detailed.

    This doesn't mean that the celts had no tatoos, but were not the blue one in the iconography (and on the busts you see here).
