It is the desire of the customer. In Russia, this popular scale.

You youngsters struggling with huge figures ! We, the men in our fifties love 1/30 models !
It was the scale in which we build all our Historex models back in the 70's and early 80's.
Large enough to bring in fine details, but small enough to build up a real collection without claiming half the house.
